Fact Checking Period Dramas: The Phantom of the Opera

With the film being set in 1870, I wanted to do a costume analysis on a costume meant to depict what was actually worn in 1870, rather than a stage costume depicting an earlier time. It is for this reason that I chose Carlotta’s look in the musical number titled, “Notes.”
